Dr. Joseph Myers
Dr. Myers is originally from the great state of Michigan and from a family of five. He attended Michigan State University (GO GREEN) and continued his education at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. Dr Myers completed internships in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Pawnee, Oklahoma, and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
After finishing optometry school in 2006, he moved to Arizona to complete a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Indian Health Service in Sacaton. Here he specialized in retinal disease, specifically diabetic eye care for all age groups. Since completing his residency, Dr. Myers has obtained his fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry and is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
Over his career, Dr. Myers has worked in many different eye care settings. Majority of his career thus far has been spent as the director of Nationwide Vision Medical division and then Director of Optometry at the Apricus medical group. He has lectured to physicians on various eye conditions, and you may have seen him on local Tv stations educating about eye health. He for years has also enjoyed teaching optometry students in the clinical setting from numerous schools to become exemplary optometrists.
Dr. Myers enjoys all outdoor activities and all sports, having grown up with winter and water sports in Michigan and playing college soccer. He is also an identical twin! He has an amazing daughter and enjoys time traveling with his wife and family in his spare time.
